Czech medical chambers and associations
The Czech plastic surgeons are bound to be members of some institutions and chambers. Most of Czech plastic surgeons are also members of voluntary institutions, because these institutions help them in their professional growth and enable fast exchange of up-to-date knowledge and experience on the field of aesthetic and plastic surgery.
As a matter of course, the Czech plastic surgeons are also members of international societies on the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery.
Czech Medical Chamber
The basic association, with a compulsory membership not only for plastic surgeons but for all doctors of medicine in the Czech Republic, is the Czech Medical Chamber. No doctor can carry out any medical practice without the membership in this chamber.
Czech Medical Society of Jan Evangelista Purkyně
Czech Medical Society of Jan Evangelista Purkyně is a voluntary independent association of doctors of medicine, pharmacists and other medical staff.
Its goal is to develop and spread scientific knowledge of medical sciences and use them in the carefor clients. It aims to raise the level of professional qualifications of its clients on the field of medical science.
To the Czech Medical Society of Jan Evangelista Purkyně belong the Society of Aesthetic Surgery, Society of Plastic Surgery, Society of Arm Surgery, Czech Society for Utilization of Lasers in Medicine.
Society of Aesthetic Surgery
Society of Aesthetic surgery is an association of plastic surgeons, specialized above all in dealing with aesthetic corporal defects.
Its professional interest lies in the specialized competence of aesthetic surgery. It guarantees the quality of operational procedures and after-care.
Its members can be only plastic surgeons with attestation. The doctors receive a certification here, which guarantees professional qualification. To obtain this certification, the doctor must practice aesthetic surgery systematically and take part in lifelong education on the field of aesthetic surgery.
Society of aesthetic surgery regularly organizes training courses and scientific meetings, which help to exchange experience on national and international level.
Society of aesthetic surgery cooperates actively with similar international organizations, ex. International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery or International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

Czech Society for Utilization of Lasers in Medicine
Czech Society for Utilization of Lasers in Medicine guarantees the proficiency skills on the field of laser therapy.
Membership in this society is conditioned by theoretical and practical training for laser users, provided by a specialist or a clinic, which was accredited by the Czech Society for Utilization of Lasers in Medicine to organize special courses and workshops.
The society organizes educational activities to inform about recent development on the field of laser technologies. It promotes international contacts on this field. It is a member of ELA – European Laser Association.
It includes a department specialized exclusively in laser aesthetic surgery.
International Societies
Many Czech plastic surgeons are active members of international societies, for exampleInternational Confederation for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, European Society of Aesthetic Laser Surgery and International Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
This international society was founded as a reaction to a dramatic development of plastic surgery. It presents up-to-date knowledge from all fields of plastic surgery and participates in development of new methods and technologies used by plastic and aesthetic surgery.
The goal of International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery is to create a source for all information concerning plastic surgery. The society leads training courses and presents with the help of e-learning continually a wide range of information on the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery.
International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery
International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery deals on an international level with the development of plastic surgery, in its scientific as well as clinical form.
It accumulates data concerning plastic surgery and aims to present them to doctors from all over the world. It is lead by two work groups. One includes representatives from all national societies, the second chooses members on a geographical base.
International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery organizes worldwide meetings and congresses on the field of plastic surgery.
European Society of Aesthetic Laser Surgery
European Society of Aesthetic Laser Surgery is an international organization concentrating ontransmitting of practical knowledge on the field of phototherapy and laser therapy in the plastic and aesthetic surgery. It offers forum for questions and answers, consulting the results and new ideas in usage of laser therapy and phototherapy.
It is an ambitions of Czech doctors specialized in plastic and aesthetic surgery, to be members of these societies, to improve their qualifications and take part in international and specialized meetings, organized by those societies.
